The Ringfence Protocol is an agentic, blockchain-integrated decentralized infrastructure for managing, securing, and monetizing data.

Through this architecture, data originators retain control over their data. They are compensated whenever their data is utilized within the protocol, and data buyers can easily access the data they need.

Data Originators: Users who provide data that powers the Ringfence Protocol. All third-party data origination must come through the Ringfence API for initial quality and uniqueness checks. Data can include browser activity, images, documents, and other digital assets.
Data Scrapers: Collect user data with user consent and securely forward it to the User Vault for storage.
Users contribute, manage, and control their data within the protocol. Their data, such as browser activity, photos, and documents, flows through the protocol for secure storage and potential monetization.
Ringfence Data Agents are autonomous AI agents involved in data processing, validation, and management, ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance. Data Agents act as the Protocol's own data brokers, fetching, cleaning and validating data before selling it to data buyers via the Data Lake.
Data Processor: Prepares and organizes data to ensure it is structured and ready for distribution across the protocol.
Data Validator: Confirms data quality and integrity, verifying accuracy before datasets are finalized for use within the ecosystem.
Data Register System: Records metadata on-chain to confirm data provenance, creating a secure and transparent record of data origins.

After data undergoes these processes, it is uploaded to the Ringfence Data Lake—an off-chain storage system—and registered within the protocol by signing a data hash, ensuring security and traceability.
The Ringfence Data Lake is the off-chain storage hub for processed data, housing it in secure databases. This structure provides efficient storage and retrieval capabilities, supporting complex data structures while minimizing on-chain storage costs.
